      Hi Kalpesh,

      Sorry for my so late reply but its better late than never 😉

      i don’t have any exclusive study material for magento certification but i remember a few real questions which i got, when i was writing. If you need i can share.

      BTW i went for Magento Developer Plus certification. The best thing i can suggest you is just follow the stack overflow and stack exchange magento area regularly , if possible answer a few queries. As well as go through the previously answered questions by Ben Marks, Alan storm , Fabian , Sonassi , Tim and Ivan cherupuymi.

      But am sure you can make it… i came across your blog some long time back when i started with magento in 2010 what an irony mate 😉

      Keep in touch. Best Regards Jerome

      Hi Peter,

      Its glad you liked my blog (but its long since i updated my posts)

      BTW , $collection->getSelect()->order(‘rand()’); will work.

      Below you can find a short snippet to get the collection of products ordered randomly from any category. Hope this helps.

      $_category_id = 8;
      $catagory_model = Mage::getModel('catalog/category')->load($_category_id);
      $collection = Mage::getResourceModel('catalog/product_collection');
      $collection->addCategoryFilter($catagory_model);
      $collection->addAttributeToFilter('status',1); //only enabled product
      $collection->addAttributeToSelect(array('sku','name','url','short_description','price','small_image_label','small_image','description')); //add product attributes to be fetched
      $collection->addStoreFilter();
      //$collection->getSelect()->order(new Zend_Db_Expr('RAND()'));
      $collection->getSelect()->order('rand()');
      $collection->setOrder('name', 'asc');
      $collection->setPageSize(3);//LIMIT PRODUCTS TO DISPLAY
      //set page size to 4 products
      //$collection->setPage(1,4);
      if($collection->getSize()){
      foreach($collection as $_product):
      echo '
      '.$_product->getName();
      endforeach;
      }
